Endura Splints

Our Endura splints are designed in house by our Melbourne team. The process we use to fabricate Endura splints is seamless and the outcome results in a comfortable, easy to fit product.

Clinically, we require maxillary and mandibular impressions or scans as well as a bite relationship. We offer several styles of splints and can easily customize for your patients' needs.

The Endura material we use is biocompatible, comfortable, and stain resistant. Adjustments can be made easily chairside.

Please feel free to reach out to our team if you require customized design options.

Type of Splints

We offer a range of digitally milled splints according to suitability and preference for yourself and your patients. We also accept your designs and can discuss customisations where possible.

  • Flat Plane Splint

Flat plane splints allow full coverage with a flat occlusal table, allowing every tooth to contact in the opposing arch. These are enhanced by digital milling to allow your preference of indentation and coverage. These can be constructed for both the upper or lower arch.

  • Michigan Splint

The Michigan Splint is an adaptation of the flat lane splint. It allows full contact of the opposing arch but has added anterior or canine guidance as per your preference.

  • Farrar Splint

The Farrar splint has a unique dramatic inclined anterior plane to guide the mandible into a protrusive position as per your prescribed position. It allows contact only with the anterior teeth.

  • Deprogrammer Splint

This splint is similar to the Farrar splint, however, does not have a dramatic ramp, rather a smaller anterior element allowing only anterior teeth to contact.

  • DAASA Splint

    Dual Arch Anterior Scribe Appliance

The DAASA involves two components, an upper and lower; one with a button in the anterior central portion and the other with a flat plane for the button to contact on, hence allowing discludes posterior contact.

  • NTI Splint

    Nociceptive Trigeminal Inhibition

The NTI splint is an anterior bite stop appliance. This can be constructed for just the anterior teeth or extended to the 4-4. It allows only anterior contact, designed to help with TMDs, headaches and rection of masticatory muscle activity.

  • Gelb Splint

This splint was the initial design associated with treatment for the TMJ. It is a mandibular splint with posterior occlusal coverage to add to the vertical dimension. This splint helps recapture the disc by adjusting the position of the mandible, usually into a more protruded and inferior position in the fossa. The splint also has an anterior lingual stainless steel support bar to join to acrylic components and traditionally has two ball hooks mesial the to lower 6s.

All splints which have only an anterior point of contact prevent the mode of mastication from trying to fit the teeth together, leaving the TMJ to reseat into a position that allows the muscles of mastication to relax.

    Dentist Information

Below are three important steps to consider when fitting the Endura Splint with your patient.

    • Try the Endura Splint in the mouth. If it is tight or not fitting passively, then
    • Place the Endura Splint in hot water for 10 seconds, shake off excess hot water and carefully place in the mouth. The Endura Splint bears unique thermoforming properties that allow for it to adapt to all dentition. It will not distort at body temperature.
    • Check occlusion and adjust where required.
