Mastering the Posterior Composite Restoration

Please join Prof Alejandro Hepburn for a workshop in Mastering the Posterior Composite Restoration. This Hands on Course Workshop will discuss material selection, cavity design, material placement and control in giving better guidelines for success.

Content:

After a theoretical introduction delegates will carry out three different restorations. The first will be a direct Class I restoration. Delegates will perform a restoration using the selective adhesive technique. Delegates will then perform a direct Class II restoration but, with an increase of the biological and mechanical compromise. Delegates will also make a semi direct restoration. In this way you will perform a “dentin substitute” that also raises the proximal margins. Then you will have to shape the cavity and take a partial impression with alginate to create a model with die silicone. Over that model you will learn to build the restoration using a variety of materials, finish it once removed from the model, and learn to adhesively cement it with a composite resin.
